Adobe Photoshop- The professional industry standard for digital image editing and graphic design.
Pixels- Dots that make up an image.
Common Functions of Photoshop- Resizing, cropping, adjusting brightness, contrast and colors of an image. Adding text, designing layouts and graphics or logos.
Resolution- The size of a document measured in Pixels or inches.
Color- Two Types of color formats in the digital world...RGB (RED, GREEN, BLUE) and CMYK (CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW, BLACK)
RGB format is mostly used in video
CMYK is mostly used in print
File Format- There is a wide variety of file formats out there that images, documents, and videos are saved as. In graphics, the most commonly used file formats are
Photoshop File Format- .PSD (.PSD files allow for editing again in photoshop)
JPEG File Format- .JPG (camera/picture format)
Layers- Photoshop allows us to build images and text on top of one another. This "stacking" of images or content is called working in LAYERS.
Tool Box- The area where all the editing tools in photoshop are located.
