What is Composition? Placement and arrangement of visual elements

Rule of Thirds- Divides your viewfinder into 3rds. Helps with composition.

Camera Shots/Angles-

1. Wide Shot- Establishing shot- 1st shot used in an edit.

2. Medium Shot- Framed waist up- used in newscasts.

3. Close up- Framed stomach or chest up- closer than a medium shot

4. Extreme-Close Up- Face shot- fills the whole frame

Head Room- Used to describe space at top of head & frame

Nose Room- Space in front of stationary (not moving) subject

Lead Room- Space in front of moving subject (leaving space in front of car or motorcycle, basketball player, ect...)

Two Shot- Two people in frame at the same time

Three Shot- Three people in frame at the same time

Over the Shoulder- " also know as OTS"- Camera is filming over the shoulder of the person talking to your subject
